Description
Tenants at this home continue to use illegal drive onto Garland Dr. creating a constantly muddy mess. They also park all over the "yard" and almost always have trash strewn around. This is a very poor example of landlordship being set by a City of Raleigh employee who knows the laws and ordinances. These same issues have been raised in the past and it only improves for a short time. The illegal drive needs to be closed somehow and the property needs to be maintained to not have mud pits and garbage blowing about. There is a legal driveway on Kent Rd. and ample parking on the driveway area on the right side of the house.

Thank you, but as indicated a zoning inspection was conducted and no violations were found. There are zoning restrictions as to parked cars on a yard, which limits how much of a yard can be used for parking, but it is not outright prohibited to park cars on a yard.
With regard to the driveway issue, I am informed that there is no curb & gutters in this area. Without a curb cut for a driveway, there is no illegal (or legal, for that matter) driveway.
I realize this is frustrating, but any enforcement action(s) must be based in the city code and there is not a code vioaltion at present. The essence of the problem is that the streets in this area were not constructed to city standards. Had they been, then there could in fact be an illegal driveway. Such is not the situation at present. If you would care to discuss, please call Louis Buonpane, 996-4275. Thank you.
